Web Developer

Title: Web Developer
Employment Status: Full Time

The Web Developer is responsible for the design and development of company websites including content creation, enhancement, security, and maintenance. They will work closely with the Director of Marketing, outside vendors and Arnott’s creative team, to support Arnott’s US and International eCommerce and web properties.

  1. Maintains Arnott’s eCommerce and other web sites. Writes, tests and debugs new and revised code and performs website updates according to established schedules. Responsible for automation projects from design to deployment.
  2. Develops new templates, microsites and pages for the Arnott website(s)
  3. Designs, develops and deploys front-end focused solutions for web pages, email and other communication needs
  4. Performs tests and documents test plans, testing procedures, test results server load, bandwidth, and database performance.
  5. Develops, coordinates and executes digital marketing efforts (SEO, SEM, mobile, social and email) with a goal of continuous improvement of organic and search rankings and social engagement.
  6. Reports performance metrics including campaign analytics, efficiency metrics, brand metrics, customer metrics, and overall return on investment for digital marketing and communications initiatives.
  7. Create and maintain software documentation.
  8. Other related duties relating to web design technologies and system configuration as assigned.
Environment and Physical Activity:

The environment for this position is an open office that is clean and comfortable. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he/she is free to move about at will.

In the course of performing this position the incumbent spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 20 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

This position may be required to operate any or all of the following: telephone, cell telephone, general office equipment including copy and fax machines, calculator, computer and related printers. He/she must be able to sit for prolonged periods and work non-traditional hours when needed.

Mental Demands:

The incumbent in this position must be able to: read and interpret documents or instruments, perform highly detailed work, assist or guide problem solving, resolve client issues, conduct meetings and presentations, prepare written communication, perform analytical reasoning, withstand stress, handle multiple, concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner.

  • BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
  • Fluency in HTML5, CSS3, PHP, Javascript, jQuery, ResponsiveFramework, Wordpress and other essential web programming frameworks as well as Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, AdWords Editor
  • Must be familiar with responsive design principals and developing optimized websites.
  • Development experience using extensible web authoring tools
  • Knowledge or Google AdWords and other PPC platforms
  • Strong process orientation with an eye for detail
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision
