Call Center Representative

Overview:

The Call Center Representative is responsible for answering incoming calls from customers to receive and place orders, answer inquiries and questions, handle complaints, troubleshoot problems and provide general information.

Duties:
  1. The position is responsible for providing professional, efficient, accurate customer service. The position answers questions concerning products, billings, delivery or related issues.
  2. He/she maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all company products, services, and promotions; provides customers with the information necessary to make appropriate product selections; and processes the orders in a timely accurate fashion.
  3. The Representative makes product recommendations according to customer’s needs regarding features, new product lines, upgrades, etc., and places customer orders by entering data accurately.
  4. The position routes inbound calls to the appropriate resources properly; handles and resolves customer complaints; and identifies and escalates priority customers.
  5. She/he completes call logs and call reports as assigned and updates them in the database in a timely fashion.
  6. Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  1. High School diploma and a minimum of six months call center or customer service experience; multi-lingual highly preferred. 
  2. Outgoing and energetic personality; must be willing to communicate readily and professionally with the general public.
  3. Knowledge of and ability to apply customer service principles and practices.
  4. Must understand and utilize proper phone etiquette; speak clearly and comfortably and be easily understood.
  5. Must be able to learn and retain product information.
  6. The position requires that staff possess the ability to multitask: speak with the customer while entering information/notes into the Company’s system; must be computer proficient.
  7. Strong process orientation: The work is detail oriented and requires excellent data entry skills; the position requires intermediate computer and keyboard skills.
  8. Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
  9. Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
